I’m Emily, it's nice to meet you. This section of my website is one that I have rewritten a plethora of times; it has proven rather hard to describe something that I love in an indescribable way. But here it goes. I was always an incredibly observant child, noticing the world and its people, studying its behavior, the ways in which it ebbed and flowed, trying to make sense of my place in it.

As I grew up, I developed a rhythm of noticing things—the way the sunlight caught a glistening spider’s web, people on the train, an expansive sky on the western mountain front—perfectly content in the act of observation, the marveling of beauty. But sometimes I struggled with showing others what I saw, sharing my perspective and observations.

I found that my camera became a way to capture the essence of things—the soft glow of life that I saw every day. I was able to share it with those I love most, and now you. I am building this website as a way to not only share with the world what I see, but also to keep for myself a collection of my work, to remind myself how ethereally beautiful life can be.
